Lecturer in the Writing Initiative
Proposed, designed, and taught one asynchronous online and two in-person sections of an advanced writing course that examines the rhetorical impacts of surveillance systems and data aggregation with a specific focus on social media platforms. Students explore the theoretical and ethical aspects of algorithmic rhetorics and surveillance, rhetorically analyze legal documents, collect and examine social media platform information, and write data-driven arguments.

WRIT 212 - Writing for Transfer Students (2022-Present)
Lecturer in the Writing Initiative
Designed and taught three sections of a writing course for transfer students that addresses argumentative writing in academic contexts. This course treats writing and research as a process, emphasizes revision, and gives students the opportunity to investigate how to write research-driven texts in disciplines and contexts that interest them. Through a process of practice, observation, and reflection, students also learn how to plan and deliver effective presentations.

Designed and taught five sections of a writing course focused on analyzing and producing several common forms of professional communication, such as emails, memos, letters, job search materials, reports, proposals, and presentations. Students work on practicing writing processes, developing an appropriate style, learning professional problem-solving, completing collaborative projects, and integrating oral and written communication. Through critical rhetorical analysis students learn how to react to various genres and writing situations, including issues of audience, organization, visual design, style, and the material production of documents

Designed and taught one sections of a first year writing course which focuses on rhetorical concepts, multimodal composition, and genre awareness in addition to media and academic literacies. Student assignments focus on remediation, critical analysis, reflection. First year seminar courses also include additional content meant to aid in the transition to college with instructors also serving as students’ academic advisor for the first two years.
